Either these institutes are part of a university or are affiliated to some university. The duration of the undergraduate course is four to five years depending upon the university to which the college is affiliated. The students learn little of basic science (pure science) concentrating instead on its applications to real life problems. Some colleges provide postgraduate courses such as PhDs. Students can specialize in different branches such as electrical engineering, civil engineering and mechanical engineering. The popularity of engineering colleges is surging, especially in India, possibly because the information technology (IT) sector has a high demand for engineers.

Even though there are many engineering courses available all over the world, the Engineering branches are mainly classified into 5 types...
They are Aerospace engineering, Chemical engineering, Electrical engineering, Civil engineering and Mechanical engineering. The other courses of engineering that we see are only derived from these 5 main categories of engineering branches. With the rapid advancement of Technology many new fields are gaining prominence and new branches are developing such as Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Nanotechnology, Tribology, Molecular engineering, Mechatronics etc. These new specialties sometimes combine with the traditional fields and form new branches such as Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics and Electrical and Computer Engineering. It is sure that in the coming days more new engineering branches will be created and will be applied in our day to day life.

Today the recent batch students of Anna university were facing a big problem called Grade. Before 2 years, the marks scored by the students were given as it is in the mark sheets. But today, the marks scored by the students were changed into grades as A, B, C and etc. Of course, they are parallel scales: e.g. all marks in the range 85-100 might merit grade A. But, there is some differemce between the students scoring 85 marks and 100 marks. So making these 2 sets of students as equal by giving them a common grade called A or some other will surely affect the mind of the students. So, anna university should should change this mode of system to the old one.

Every one of us are very much familiar with the word "Distance education". But we don't know briefly about it... So in this post, we can make this term "Distance education", more familiar to us. Distance education is a field of education that focuses on the technology and instructional systems design that aim to deliver education to students who are not physically "on site". Distance education can reach underserved populations of students who cannot attend a school that offers the educational services they desire, perhaps because they live too far away. Mainly, this type of education is conducted as an correspondence course through regular mail and it is also conducted through online services too... Thus "Distance education" is considered as a boon for students, who can't able to attend the classes in a regular manner. So people must make use of this type of education and should give more preference to it.
